BBC News has reported that prosecutions for trafficking have increased following the introduction of modern slavery legislation.

It’s interesting to note that  ‘the number of victims, many of whom are men, trafficked to be labourers or domestic workers is exceeding those for sexual exploitation’ – Alison Saunders, Director of Public Prosecutions Office.

The legislation appears to also be providing the impetus for greater international collaboration on smuggling and trafficking.
